The Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world. No trip to Paris would be complete without taking a photo of it! I took over 500 pictures on our trip, and many of the Eiffel Tower. It’s such a beautiful structure and something that I didn’t get tired of admiring. Since you can see this iconic structure from many different areas in Paris, I was able to get tons of interesting photos of it.
How to Get to The Eiffel Tower
Depending on where you are staying in Paris, the most efficient way to get to the Eiffel Tower is to either walk or take the metro. The Eiffel Tower is located in the 7th arrondissement. We were staying outside of the 14th, so to get to the there, we took the 6 line and got off at the Bir-Hakeim stop. The attraction is clearly marked on the metro maps, which made it easy for us to find. You can also take the RER C line to Champ de Mars / Tour Eiffel.
Best Eiffel Tower Photo Locations
Through our research of Paris, we got an idea of some of the popular photo destinations, but some of my favorite shots where taken when we were just walking around and exploring. We aren’t professional photographers or Instagram models, so you won’t find perfectly styled shots or us in fancy outfits. We’re just regular people that like to travel, but I think we managed to get some nice shots. Here are some of the best spots in Paris to get a picture of the Eiffel Tower.
The Trocadéro
From our first day in Paris. We were tired and very jet lagged!
The Trocadéro is directly across the Seine River from the Eiffel Tower. If you climb up the stairs, you’ll get a fantastic view of the tower and the city. As you can see from the photo above, this is a really popular tourist destination. There were hundreds of people there when we went. If you’re wanting less people in your shots, head here early. I bet it’s beautiful at sunrise!
The Carousels
This carousel is located at the bottom of The Trocadéro. You’ll also want to stop and get a crepe while you’re here!
There are carousels all over Paris and several right near the Eiffel Tower. The one featured in the photo above was at the bottom of The Trocadéro steps, so after you take your photo there, be sure to walk down and get another photo from this perspective. Again, you’ll want to come early in the morning if you’re looking to have less people in your photo.
Champ de Mars
The Eiffel Tower is magnificent at sunset!
The Champ de Mars is a park the surrounds the Eiffel Tower. We went here before sunset so we could see the tower at night. The park is lovely and there were tons of people having picnics and watching the sunset. It’s a great place to get a photo of the Eiffel Tower straight on.
Rue de l’Université
So glad we walked down this block. What an amazing view!
Rue de l’Université is a small street on the East side that gives a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower. We just happened to be walking in that direction when we stumbled upon it. I think this photo is my favorite out of all of them. Imagine waking up everyday to that view!
Rue Saint-Dominique
Another great view from Rue Saint-Dominique.
Rue Saint-Dominique is popular for shopping and restaurants, but also has a great view of the Eiffel Tower. You’ll see it peeking through buildings as you walk.
Arc de Triomphe
This view was totally worth all the stairs we climbed.
The Arc de Triomphe is a beautiful structure on its own, but for a gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower and the entire city, climb to the top. Beware, the climb is climb is 284 steps, but it’s well worth it for the magnificent views!
Seine River Cruise
A highlight of our Paris trip was cruising the Seine River.
Get a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower from a cruise along the Seine River. Even though it started to rain during our cruise, it was still one of the highlights from our trip. The boat ride is relaxing and lets you see a lot of the highlights of Paris.
Even though we aren’t professional photographers, we still managed to get some great photos of the Eiffel Tower while we were in Paris. When the subject is so beautiful, it’s easy to do!
